About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Leisure Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of our spa and leisure facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service, while ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all areas.

You will lead by example, supporting and motivating the leisure team to deliver a consistently high-quality guest experience. With a strong presence on the floor, you will take ownership of operational standards, resolve issues effectively, and act as a key point of contact in the absence of senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Customer Service

  • Lead by example in delivering a warm, professional welcome
  • Ensure consistently high standards of customer service across the team
  • Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints efficiently
  • Support reception operations, bookings, and member interactions

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, support, and motivate Leisure Attendants during shifts
  • Allocate tasks and ensure completion of all duties and checklists
  • Provide on-the-job training and performance support
  • Monitor staff standards including presentation and punctuality
  • Act as duty supervisor when required

Membership Sales & Engagement

  • Maintain full knowledge of memberships, packages, and pricing
  • Drive sales through upselling, show rounds, and guest engagement
  • Support the team in achieving membership targets
  • Ensure accurate and compliant membership administration

Operations & Facility Management

  • Oversee the smooth running of all leisure and spa areas
  • Support spa departments and wider hotel operations as needed
  • Manage stock levels, linen, and supplies
  • Coordinate laundry processes and stock rotation

Cleaning & Facility Standards

  • Ensure exceptional cleanliness across all areas including pool, gym, spa, changing rooms, and outdoor spaces
  • Monitor and sign off daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Maintain high presentation standards throughout the facility
  • Oversee hygiene compliance and waste management

Health & Safety

  • Take responsibility for health & safety compliance across all areas
  • Conduct poolside walkarounds and safety checks
  • Ensure accurate pool testing, water quality checks, and record keeping
  • Act immediately on hazards, faults, or maintenance issues

Facilities & Equipment

  • Ensure all equipment is safe, functional, and well maintained
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Oversee plant room checks and water feature operations

Fitness Classes

  • Plan and deliver safe, engaging group fitness classes
  • Adapt sessions to suit a range of abilities
  • Ensure a professional, inclusive, and motivating environment
  • Maintain class schedules and promote participation

Flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. Full Time & Part Time considered.

About You

We are looking for a confident and organised individual with proven experience in a busy leisure or spa environment, ideally at a senior or supervisory level. You will have a strong understanding of facility operations, health and safety, and customer service excellence.

You will hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, with experience in delivering group exercise classes. Pool plant experience is essential, with the ability to confidently carry out testing, monitoring, and compliance checks.

You are a natural leader with excellent communication skills, capable of motivating a team and handling guest interactions with professionalism and confidence. You will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to take ownership of standards and performance during your shift.

This role involves manual duties such as setting up equipment, poolside responsibilities, and general facility upkeep. Candidates should be comfortable carrying out these tasks, and reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
