Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2024

Nelson Hotels & Inns, a family-run collection of hotels, inns and restaurants, has much to celebrate following the annual Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2023/2024, during which three of their properties took home top prizes.

A much-anticipated ceremony at Chester Cathedral brought together hospitality and tourism professionals from across Cheshire, ranging from accommodation providers and restaurants to the area’s finest visitor attractions.

Hosted by Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Wild at Heart actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, the annual awards ceremony welcomed over 300 guests to toast to Cheshire hospitality and tourism and discover the award winners across 16 categories.

Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, the group’s flagship hotel located on the outskirts of Chester, was crowned the winner of the Business Events Venue of the Year award, a category in which the hotel was in excellent company alongside Chester Cathedral, The Engine Rooms at Birchwood Park and Wychwood Park Hotel & Golf Club.

The Bear’s Paw in Warmingham was recognized for its quality as a top accommodation venue, beating out notable competition to win the Small Serviced Accommodation Provider of the Year award.  Finally, The Pheasant Inn in Burwardsley surpassed some excellent local outlets to be named Pub of the Year.

Following the fantastic evening of success for the group, Andrew Nelson, operations director of Nelson Hotels & Inns, commented: “What an incredible night celebrating the best of hospitality, made perfect with our three sites each taking home an award! We could not be more proud of the quality and resilience of our properties and our team is delighted to accept these honours.”

Trevor Brocklebank, chair of Marketing Cheshire and deputy chair of Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership said: “The record number of entries is testament to the pride those behind the region’s world class attractions and pioneering businesses have and just why our visitor economy is worth billions and attracts 50 million visitors a year. Another truly special night.”

A selection of the winners from the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards will go on to have the opportunity to represent Cheshire at national level during the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
