Nelson Hotels & Inns, a family-run collection of hotels, inns and restaurants, is celebrating after three of its properties were recognized in the announcement of finalists in the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2023/2024.
The Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards are amongst the region’s best regarded accolades for hospitality businesses, highlighting restaurants, venues, hotels and visitor experiences which make Cheshire one of the UK’S most exciting counties to visit.
Three of Nelson Hotels & Inns’ properties have been recognised across five categories in the 2023/2024 awards cycle. Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, the group’s flagship hotel located on the outskirts of Chester, is a finalist in the most categories, receiving the nod for Large Hotel of the Year, Wedding Venue of the Year and Business Events Venue of the Year. The 4-star hotel’s number of appearances in the shortlist selection is second only to Chester Zoo.
Two of the group’s countryside inns have also been named as finalists, with both The Bear’s Paw in Warmingham and The Pheasant Inn in Burwardsley shortlisted in the Small Serviced Accommodation Provider of the Year category. The latter property also appears as a finalist in the Pub of the Year category.
This auspicious number of accolades means that Nelson Hotels & Inns group features in six finalist positions throughout the shortlist, which is now subject to second-stage mystery judging.
Sue Nelson, managing director of Nelson Hotels & Inns, said: “It is an honour to see three of our properties excelling in these prestigious awards. Undoubtedly, we are in first-class company amongst leading hospitality businesses in the region and we are delighted with our group’s recognition.”
Trevor Brocklebank, Chair of Marketing Cheshire and Deputy Chair of Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership said: “It has been another year of exceptional entries and everyone shortlisted exemplifies the work that goes on to ensure Cheshire and Warrington is a truly wonderful place to live and visit.
“Our region welcomes over 36.3 million visitors each year creating a visitor economy valued at over £3.7 billion and the finalists all play a role in this. Judges now have the unenviable task of choosing winners in each category.”
Cheshire’s hospitality elite will come together to celebrate the finalists and crown the winners in each category at a glittering ceremony at Chester Cathedral on Thursday 21st March 2024. A selection of the winners will go on to have the opportunity to represent Cheshire at national level during the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
