Nelson Hotels & Inns is celebrating fresh success for the group after earning a milestone ten finalist positions in the Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards 2027, recognising the collection’s ongoing contribution to Cheshire’s thriving hospitality landscape.
The annual awards celebrate the very best of the county’s visitor economy, shining a spotlight on the hotels, restaurants, attractions and tourism businesses that create outstanding experiences for guests and form Cheshire’s growing reputation as a leading UK destination.
Across the categories for 2027, Nelson Hotels & Inns has secured ten finalist places spanning five categories, with recognition for several of the group’s distinctive hotels and inns.
The group’s flagship property, Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, has again been shortlisted in the Large Hotel and Business Events Venue of the Year categories, areas which the hotel has proudly been recognised in year-on-year since the 2023 awards cycle.
Elsewhere, both of the group’s five-star country inns, The Bear’s Paw and The Pheasant Inn have been named as finalists in three categories: Pub of the Year, Small Serviced Accommodation of the Year and the Taste of Cheshire award. The inns keep excellent company in the dining categories, not least with their sister inn: the popular Delamere gastropub, The Fishpool Inn, has also secured recognition in the Taste of Cheshire award and Pub of the Year categories, the latter of which the property won in both 2026 and 2025.
Andrew Nelson, Operations Director of Nelson Hotels & Inns, said: “It is a true honour to have achieved our most successful entry, earning 10 finalist positions, in the Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards, an awards system we value immensely within our business. Every nomination is a reflection of the dedication and care shown by our teams, who work tirelessly to deliver memorable experiences for every guest who visits us.
“It is particularly rewarding to receive this level of recognition against an increasingly challenging landscape for hospitality, and our collection is in fantastic company amongst some of the area’s very best businesses .”
Of the awards themselves, Jamie Christon, Chair of the Marketing Cheshire Advisory Board, said: ”Our judges face a really tough decision this year, with entries showing the incredibly high standard of talent and work happening across the region’s £4.3billion visitor economy.”
The winners will be revealed at the Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards 2027 ceremony at the newly-redeveloped Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere on Thursday 11th February 2027, following a second-stage judging process through mystery visits. There are even further accolades on offer, as select successful entrants will also have the opportunity to represent Cheshire on the national stage at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.
